In diesem Buch schildert Brad Stone, der ein enger Vertrauter von Jeff Bezos ist, wie Amazon entstanden und gewachsen ist. Dabei geht es nicht nur um Amazon selbst, sondern natürlich auch viel um Jeff Bezos den Gründer und Geschäftsführer des "Everything Stores". Dabei wird deutlich wie Bezos die Welt sieht und welches interessante und ebenso kontroverse Mindest er vertritt.Das Buch arbeitet sich mit Kapitel für Kapitel durch die chronologische Reihenfolge der Amazon-Story vor. Erst der Buchhandel, dann CDs, DVDs, Kindle usw. Es werden auch ein paar Takte zu Jeffs Zeit vor Amazon gesagt, was durchaus auch sehr interessant ist.Man sollte schon gute Englischkenntnisse mitbringen, wenn man dieses Buch flüssig lesen möchte. Es ist nunmal Fachliteratur und somit sind auch einige Fachwörter zu erwarten, die man nicht mit jedem Basisenglisch sich erschließen kann. Ich persönlich hatte keine allzu großen Probleme und hab nur selten ein Wort nachschlagen/googeln müssen. Wer noch nicht so sattelfest in der englischen Sprache ist, der sollte besser auf die Kindle Version zurückgreifen, da sich dort Übersetzungen schnell und unkompliziert anzeigen lassen (B2 oder C1 sollte ausreichen, um das Buch flüssig lesen zu können).Einen größeren Kritikpunkt an der Taschenbuchausgabe habe ich allerdings noch. Es riecht furchtbar unangenehm. Entweder das Papier, die Tinte des Buches oder gar beides versauen einem schon etwas das Lesevergnügen.Nichtsdestotrotz ist es ein super Buch und sollte von jedem gelesen werden, der sich für Buisness, Unternehmertum und Co interessiert.Ich hoffe ich konnte Ihnen mit meiner Rezension weiterhelfen und würde mich über eine positive Bewertung sehr freuen.
Statt einer oberflächlichen Darstellung von Jeff Bezoz oder eben nur Amazon, wird in einem interessanten Detailgrad der Werdegang von Jeff Bezoz sowie dem Konzern, dargestellt.Anders als in vergleichbaren Werken (Steve Jobs Biographie) wird diese Aufteilung und parallele Darstellung der Hauptcharaktere sehr elegant bewältigt.Mir gefällt besonders, dass das Buch sehr ehrlich wirkt, weder die Motive von Jeff Bezoz noch jene Anfangsschwierigkeiten und Kritiken an Amazon in seinen Kinderschuhen werden unnötig verschönert, das Buch liest sich sehr objektiv, was mich doch etwas überrascht hat.tldr;Wer seine Eindrücke und Geschichtensammlung zu den ganz großen Unternehmen / Unternehmern und dem Silicon Valley vervollständigen möchte kommt schlichtweg nicht an diesem Buch vorbei.Das Buch ist sehr interessant und sehr spannend geschrieben und - entgegen meiner Befürchtungen - liest sich nicht wie eine knapp 400 Seiten lange Werbung, sondern vielmehr wie ein holpriger Weg zum Giga-Unternehmen.Besonders nett finde ich zudem die kleine Fotostrecke in der MIttes des Buches :)
Ich habe schon bevor ich das Buch gekauft habe sehr viele Interviews mit Jeff Bezos gesehen. Natürlich wird er immer sehr kontrovers diskutiert (die einen feiern ihn als brillianten Unternehmer und CEO, die anderen finden ihn zu rabiat und hart gegenüber Mitarbeitern und Konkurrenten).In seinem Buch beschreibt Brad Stone auf hervorragende Weise, wie Jeff Bezos tickt und wie er mit Amazon angefangen hat. Dabei geht Stone auf verschiedene Abschnitte in Bezos' Leben ein, bevor sich dann, logischerweise, der Hauptteil des Buches um Amazon dreht.Das Buch selbst erzählt die Geschichte dabei chronologisch und widmet die Kapitel einzelnen Meilensteinen des Unternehmens (Kindle, AWS, Perfektion der Fulfillment Center etc.). Hierbei gibt es gelegentlich Zeitsprünge, aber alles wird sehr spannend und anschaulich erzählt.Alles in allem kann ich das Buch jedem empfehlen, der sich für Business und Unternehmer/Unternehmen interessiert, vor allem in so großem Ausmaße wie Amazon. Ich konnte viele Aspekte für mich selbst mitnehmen (knallharter Fokus, Langzeit-Denken und viele mehr) und finde die Erfolgsstory Amazon extrem interessant.

Even though is not written by Jeff Bezos himself the author Brad Stone has inside information and data that will help you understand the company.For me it was surprising to learn about some of the tactics and methods that they use in Amazon to grow. It described how the keep up having almost always the lowest prices for products.From technical perspective it is interesting to find out how they managed to solve some issues that they had with the fulfillment centers and how they are upgrading practices for faster delivery. Also for me the story of building AWS was interesting. Great book if you want to know the Amazon history and how one of the biggest technological companies in the world works.
Ein sehr interessantes Buch über die Geschichte Amazons mit besonderem Blick auf die Entwicklung von Jeff Bezos. Ich kann es definitiv weiterempfehlen für Leute die sich dafür interessieren wo Amazon seine Ursprünge hat und warum es jetzt da ist wo es ist. Das Buch liest sich super.
Ich bin mit der Bestellung und dem Inhalt des Buches sehr zufrieden und kann es jedem nur empfehlen, der sich ansatzweise für das Thema interessiert. Kurze Anmerkung: Das Buch ist etwas kleiner als erwartet, falls man als normale Taschenbuchgrößen gewöhnt ist.
Das Buch gefällt mir nicht besonders gut. Ich habe mit deutlich mehr Insights zu Amazon und dem Business Modell gerechnet. Wurde daher etwas enttäuscht
