Where did August go? As the last month of summer came we filled it with a grundle of activities and work, as the harvest from the garden and orchard was beginning to come in. The harvest has been great, both spirititual and physical-lots of produce from the garden and peaches and honey, etc. Yum, yum. But best of all, the birth of two new grandbabies, Liz's in March, Sarah's in August, and two more to go this month! We are grateful for the heritage of the gospel which gives us a reason for rejoicing in our families and a desire to live better so we can be with them through all eternity! We are strengthened by one another and supported in our trials and blessings.

We had a Hawaain luaiu at our home with all the Knudsen's. Good food was provided and lots of fun, with water-balloon volley-ball, a hula-hoop contest, and a fun zip line for the brave ones. We had a great turn out and it was fun to see everyone and catch up on their lives.

Our trip to Oregon
Paul and I had a quick trip to Oregon to visit our newest grandaughter, Brianna, and to visit with Cordell, Sarah, and their children. We had a great visit, but only with they weren't so far away. On the way home, we stopped at Crater Lake. Beautiful!
Paul and I took Preston, Sylvia, and Ethan to the ocean one day so Sarah could have a quiet day with the baby, but it was raining when we got to the beach. We spent a little time at the ocean at Coos Bay and walked around a beautiful garden on Shore Acres, then headed back. The children probably wondered what all the excitement was about after spending most of the day in the car. Preston probably would have had more fun in school. But Paul and I loved being with them.
Notice the tutu on Sylvia. This is what she dressed herself in for the outing.

These are deer that come for a daily visit in Sarah and Cordell's yard. They love to nibble on all their vegetation.

This is part of Shore Acres gardens.

Sylvia got a little wet on our short excursion to the ocean. It rained and rained!
Below is a slug the kids found while hiking up to a waterfall.

This was a hike we all made to a beautiful waterfall. Moss hung on everything. Oregon is certainly a beautiful place. Sarah was so brave to go out with a two-week old baby. What a trooper!

This is our newest addition, Sarah and Cordell's little girl, Briana on her blessing day. She was blessed in the same dress that Sarah wore on her blessing day. Sylvia wore this too. Thanks to Great Grandma Knudsen for the beautiful dress.

Briana's blessing day. Sylvia had a crown from primary for her birthday.
Below is Ethan ("the tank") trying to be tender as he holds his little sister.

David and Acacia celebrated their little Evia's first birthday August 19. Little Briana was born on the same day. Notice the tutu on Evia. This was part of her birthday outfit. Tutu's must be an in thing with the little girl's these days.

Lastly, here is a picture of our peaches and some of our honey. We were blessed with a good harvest and have been busy picking and harvesting. Paul was inspired to plant 100 peach trees in our back acre. Hopefully they will help to finance some missions in the future.
What a wonderful, busy month of August!
